It's been an interesting time lately for New Warriors in print and in the news:
We have previews for Nova #36 and Firestar #1.
In his own title, Nova continues to kick ass and Darkhawk is still guest starring, plus we have resurrected Namorita *does a happy dance* but news this week - Nova Prime has been revealed as a member of the Secret Avengers under Steve Roger's leadership. I don't know how Richie's going to work that, being a Secret Avenger on Earth, having an ongoing role in Realm of Kings and running the Nova Corps... guess we'll have to read to find out. Brubaker is writing and Deodato is on art, niiiice.
The staff of Avengers Academy: Hank Pym, Tigra, Quicksilver, Speedball and Justice. I think Quicksilver is the most unexpected and interesting name on that list. Gonna be interesting. I'll admit, I wasn't all that convinced by the I am in Avengers Academy student ads with all those new or unknown characters. Come on, they have a huge stable of young heroes to choose from and they create even more newbies? *shakes head* I have liked Gage's approach to writing Penance though so I'm curious to see how under his pen, Robbie will approach being Speedball again. Old angst new/old costume/name maybe - Penance as a character doesn't fit with what we're seeing as the Heroic Age image.
Jubilee made an appearance in the X-Men teaser posters this week... as a vampire. Is it 616 Jubes, anyone know?
The Scarlet Spider costume was in a promotional image late last year but just which version of SS it is not known, see below. Was that recent mini with Ben Reilly set in 616? Could it be Ben or is it Peter from the past or maybe even Patrick from Avengers the Initiative...
Anyway, let's finish with some art:
So... thoughts? Any of the new titles you're going to be pulling or not?
