From the FX International Dark Reign panel:
"Are there any plans to bring back the Counterforce (n/k/a The New Warriors)?"
There are plans, the panel indicated, and they will be the core of the resistance, joined by Tigra (since her leaving the Initiative is no longer a secret). But no more could be revealed, since none of them wanted to give away who would be leaving the Initiative and who would be staying. They did hint, though, that those who are old school New Warriors fans should keep an eye on the Initiative, as there will be some possible intriguing appearances that those fans might just recognize. "And ignore the rumors on the internet," Christos said. "The Initiative is not going to be cancelled. Just keep buying it, and we'll keep it that way!"
Intriguing appearances? Pfft, it's already been leaked that Penance turns up in that title sometime but I'm curious, only he, Angel, Nita & Dwayne of old school NWs haven't turned up there, two for obvious reasons.
Also, from the Rafa Sandoval page:
NRAMA: So, with Rafa coming on board, and the promises that seem to be made about what's coming up, just who will we be seeing joining the Initiative with the new class?
CG: We'll still be focusing mainly on characters we've already met, like Constrictor, Diamondback, Taskmaste r, and of course the bona fide heroes who have decided they can no longer be part of the Initiative, like Justice and Tigra. But there will be some new recruits coming in and out...mostly of the nefarious variety. Sure, we'll have some recognizable names, but I'm really having fun digging up obscure faces for this-guys who've never even seen the inside of a Marvel Handbook. Johnny Guitar and Dr. Sax, anyone? That's right, they're all mine now...hands off, Slott!
