Jubilee gave Jono a saucy wink as she carefully finished pinning the thick kilt around his waist.

"I bet Thrash hates this thing," she said, smoothing the fabric. "It's not even a proper costume. And you might not be Scottish but you do have nice legs."

"You've checked out my legs lately?"

"Not just me and not just your legs. The other ladies love the kilt too... and maybe some of the boys." She laughed as a slow flush crept across his grey cheeks.

"Because everybody loves a mystery, Luv, even Thrash," he replied with a grin.

"I've seen what's under there. There's nothing mysterious about it."

"I thought we agreed, no powers." Vance looked to the horizon but the baseball had disappeared. The two Scarlet Spiders had sped away in pursuit.

"It's not my fault, we might have to leave for a mission anytime, we need to be ready so I can't just switch the super strength on and off," said Jubilee defensively. It sounded lame even to her. Mostly because she could turn it on and off.

"This is how we played it at Xavier's and the Academy, mate. Where's the fun if you can't use powers." Jono to her rescue, she could kiss him.

"Really? So that's the way you want to play?" Vance signalled his team and chorus of bloodthirsty whoops and catcalls followed. "Okay then. All powers, no more rules. May the best team win." He gave her a grin that promised he'd follow the new game plan to the letter.

Jono slapped her on the back. "Look at it this way, Luv, at least we'll break a sweat now. And maybe a few bones."

Most of the team had disappeared when the two began comparing their numerous piercings. It was fine counting the number in their ears and faces but when Robbie pulled his shirt off over his head to show Debs the nipple rings, even Vance and Elvin had blanched.

They'd made for the door when Debrii had pulled at the neck of her shirt to reveal her own.

Robbie whistled appreciatively. "Niiiiice. Got any others under cover?"

"Not any that I'm showing you, not without a few drinks and the promise of seeing what's in your pants anyway." She gave him a rare smile.

He grinned back at her. "How'd you know I had a piercing down there..."

Robbie's ongoing brainwashing is interrupted and leads him to get amnesia. He's found by kind people who help him on the way to recovery.

This one's a longshot, but what the hell...

Mayday Parker from Spider-Girl ends up traveling back in time (again) and is found by the New Warriors who help her adjust to the present time. May and Angelica talk about May's uncle Ben, who was a member of the team once upon a time.

"My dad?" Spider-Girl shook her head not noticing her companion (Darkdevil?) flinch at the question. Angelica might have thought more of it if the female wall crawler didn't answer. Honesty? She hadn't expected an answer, just more of the same "sorry I can't tell you anything about myself" masked hero talk. "No, he wasn't my dad. He...he was my uncle."

Past tense. A knot of dread tightened in her stomach by Angelica told herself this girl was from a possible future. That didn't mean that he was dead. There had been talk of course but she could never--

"What made you think that the Scarlet Spider wore the same costume?" The new horn head asked. She glanced at the teenage girl wearing the costume of her friend.

"Sometimes you just know a person, even if you've never saw their face. I could tell through his actions." She paused mild speech to look over the figure she had looked over in favor of Spider-Girl. "Guess you can say the old saying is true. Actions speak louder than words."

Usually. Sometimes words gave people away. The Scarlet Spider did through his concern for the team. Just like these two did with their interest in the man.
